VIP Voter Breaking the Law

In The Star newspaper today, Dharmender Singh wrote about a VIP Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo rode a bike to cast his vote in Easy-riding VIP Voter.

Notice anything wrong with the picture below?

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo on Motorcycle

Hello? Where is the helmet? Both Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and his wife broke the law in public and caught in picture and shown in National newspaper. I mean, Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo, as the Mentri Besar of Selangor, should know better about the law that all motorcycle rider and passenger must put on a safety helmet. But in the picture, he and his wife were not wearing the helmet, and worse of all, I can’t find a helmet anywhere in the picture.

Why? Is he afraid that if he wears a helmet no one will recognize him? Is he afraid that the helmet would mess up his hairstyle? Or is he afraid that the helmet can’t fit his head? As a politician and the Mentri Besar of Selangor, he should know better to wear a helmet. How about setting up as a good example to the citizens, especially to those in kampung-kampung (small village) area that wearing a helmet is a must, and even a VIP is not excluded from this law?

So is the police going to take any action against Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo? I mean, come on! Here is the evidence you need!

I don’t think so.

Oh his excuse: dia naik motor atas jalan yang bukan di gazet, jadi tak apa mah.
(Riding on NON-Gazetted Road,so it’s OK. Gazetted roads are those maintained by JKR and has a road number, like K826,otherwise it’s considered private roads, like of those maintained by Majlis)

    Best regards

azrin - I don’t know if he was riding on gazetted road or not. But the road behind him looks like a damn big road to me. But gazetted or not, shouldn’t he set a good example to everyone that it is a must to wear a helmet for safety?

haan - well, as I said, he should set an example lor!

Just out of curiosity do the malay woman always sit sideways on a motorbike? cos here the women always sit like that (Pakistan) apparently its immoral otherwise.

I can’t say they always sit sideways like that, but it is more common to see it in those small villages. The reason is not immoral or something. Look at the length of their skirt! How is it possible for them to sit properly on a motorbike with such long skirt?

It might have something to do with the tightness of the skirt too :)

That is also one possibility, so you combine a tight long dress, how is it possible not to sit on the motorcycle sideway? :P
