a dog’s place

Lately I have found out its more difficult to find a place for Fluffy to go. For example, IKANO has printed some handouts that later they will implement a policy where dog’s owners will not be allowed to bring their dogs into the premises. If they want to go to Pet Safari, they will have to take the backdoor access, walk one big round behind the main mall, to enter Pet Safari.

The reasons? “Because we are a multi-racial community so we have to respect the others.” Excuse me? That sounds stupid. So dog owners must respect those who don’t like dogs? How about those people respect our rights, and our pet’s rights, to access the mall? First of all, almost all of the dogs that I saw at IKANO are very well trained, and they do not give any troubles to the other visitors. And then, they do not liter the place like a rat, so what’s the big deal? Just that you don’t like furkid so you have the right to request the mall management to ban all living dogs inside the mall?

I thought “respect” is a mutual thing, and not one-way traffic. So what do they do to respect us in return? By not giving us the disgusted look, and not shrieking like a fanatic bitch when a dog is nearby? Fuck it man, it looks like its all of us respecting them, instead of all of us respecting each other. How about you getting my fucking respect by the international hand sign?

Dogs are simply wonderful. They are loyal, and they are loving. And then they also give us a wonderful time. Do they be aggressive to other people? Definitely, but only towards assholes. So if you don’t like dogs, do not expect them to love you. Most probably they will bite your hands off and chew your balls like a hamburger.

So, if you do know of a place where the dog owners can bring their beloved furkid, please drop me a comment, with your name, and the detail locations. Please only comment the real place where we can actually bring our pets, not your assumption. Your best guess is as lame as a rubber duck.

The best measurement is you bring your pets there, or you have seen people bringing their pets there without any problem.

Thanks! And I also thank you on behalf of all dog owners.

goodbye, Steve Irwin

This post is to remember Steve Irwin, the famous “Crocodile Hunter” from Australia, whom has done loads and loads of documentary on wild life animals on Discovery Channel. He was killed by a stingray at age 44, and he is survived by his American-born wife, Terri, and their two children, Bindi Sue, 8, and Robert (Bob), 3.

NOTE: Stingrays are normally calm and passive. They will strike only when they felt threatened or when someone accidentally stepped on it.

are you what you have studied?

Are you what you have studied?

That’s the question of the week. After meeting with a lot of people, I found out that they are in profession that has nothing related to what they had studied during universities/diplomas. Just like Fluffy’s groomer, he was studying Electronic Engineering, and he used to work for a big semiconductor firm in design and failure analysis. Yet, today he’s the part-owner of the grooming shop.

As for me, I have a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, yet I ventured into being Sales Engineer for a trading company specialized in X-ray machines. Yup, that’s not Mechanical Engineering related. After that, I switched job and started as Sales Executive for a Chemical company selling specialzed raw materials for paint industry. After that, I started my own company doing nothing of the above. So you can see, the career path that I chose got nothing to do with what I have studied.

“Ah!! That is such a waste!” Some friends said. “Why? What is so wasted?” I replied. “You spent so much time and money going oversea to study Mechanical Engineering, and then further it by getting Master’s, now doing something so different, so its a waste,” came the standard reply.

I don’t understand. What is the wastage? Yup, I did spend like years and years to do my Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, but so what? I studied what I liked, and in real life, I prefer to do something else, like running my own business, even if the business ins not Mechanical Engineering related. I do what I am comfortable in, and during my working life (working for others, I mean), I try to learn as much as possible about the different industries, and I also try to know more about the different aspect of
work.

When people ask me why I took a wide turn in career, it sounded like someone was asking me why my pee is white in color even I drank black coffee. Well, the explaination is that there is filtration going on, and eventually what you drank is not what you pee (even though the pee might smell a bit like coffee). Okay, that might not be a very good example, but you got the idea.

I bet a lot of people are doing something completely different than what they have studied during their university/college time. If you happen to drop by this page, care to leave a comment and let me do a random statistic of how many people are actually doing what they have studied?

Thanks!

car, technology and sex

Everyone who knows me well enough will know that I am a sucker for technology and cars. Yes, sometimes when I am taking my own sweet time in the toilet to take a dump, I will dream that I own a Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 599GBT, Lamborghini (all of them!!!), Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche Cayenne and of course, a Mercedez-Benz E240. Before I fall asleep, the music that plays in my mind is the exhaust note of those wonderful cars, attacking the turns of the road and the sound of those big fat tyres fighting for grip on the asphalt. Yes, I love cars.

I also admit the fact that I am a sucker for technology. I like to prowl through the pages of technology magazines to look at those gadgets, and dream that one day I would own all the gadgets showcased in thsoe magazines. So there’s no surprise that I have activated my Blackberry service from Maxis on my Nokia E61. (Click here to find out more about Maxis Blackberry)

Boy o’ boy. Let me tell you the truth. If you have tried the Nokia E61 and the Blackberry service, you will feel that your life is incomplete without them. The beauty of Blackberry is that the instance an email hits your inbox, Blackberry will “push” the email to your Nokia E61, and you can reply instantly. It is a God-send for a busy guy like me whom is not in the office most of the time. Hell, Khien even joked that I don’t even need a blardy chair in the office so why bother with a 1000+++ Malaysia Ringgit chair.

But I have a major complaint. Its so major that I am blogging about it and let my devouted readers to understand my frustration, and hopefully it will gather enough force to make Nokia take notice about my complaint…

I am using a macbook and all Nokia phones are not supported by fucking Nokia. You want a mac version of Nokia PC Suit? Well, you will have a higher chance of finding a bigfoot than hoping to find it in this universe. You want to find the Installer program (which let you install those Symbian programs into your phone) for your mac? Trust me, you have a better chance at finding virgin in a prostitute house.

Mac (or Apple) is not a backyard company selling home-made desktop and laptop. They are one of the major companies in the world and the apple (logo) is so fucking delicious! Nokia, being a giant house it is in mobile technology, decided to ignore mac users and that is just pissing me off! Oh come on Nokia Support Team. Not everyone in this frigging world is using Microsoft okay? In fact, the only thing that Microsoft makes that does not suck is vaccuum cleaner. So why not support Mac OS X, which is more stable and better than Microsucks Microsoft? While you are at it, please develop support for Linux users as well. You have a wonderful product, but your support is not good enough to cover those elite users like ME!

Luckily, because me, your highness and a member of the elite force, uncovered some great websites that has tips and tools to let you synchronize your Nokia E61 with your macbook.

Go to this site and this site to download the plugin for mac OS X for iSync to work with your Nokia E61.

You must be wondering where is the topic about sex since the title is “car, technology and sex”. Too bad!! I won’t try to use sex as a discussion to stirr up my reader count.

That’s right. No sex for you.

post-merdeka syndrome

The Merdeka Eve
Maria, Fluffy and me were watching Taegukgi, a Korean movie about brotherhood during the war time on TV2 (or at least I think its TV2). Yup, we did not subscribe Astro as we don’t watch much TV programs nowadays since both of us are very busy. During this war scene, with bullets and bombs blazing across the screen rapidly, we heard loud explosion outside of our apartment. Then the whole apartment were vibrating, windows glasses cracking, and Fluffy was looking at both of us like asking us what the fuck happened.

At first we thought we upgraded our sound system. Then when we listened carefully, only then we realized it was the fireworks at the shopping mall nearby. Ah!!! Merdeka came quietly, if not for the firework announcing it.

Merdeka Day
Yesterday I did what I said in my previous post: not going to major shopping malls to get myself stucked in bad traffic and lousy parking spot. Intead, Maria and I went to pick up K and SH for a quick lunch at Uptown Damansara, and then we went to Hatamas Shopping Mall to waste our time.

Yup, we went to Hatamas Shopping Mall. Parking aplenty, and there’s no traffic jam going there. Its like a jewel in the city where everyone decided on the very last minute to go to shopping malls for their air-condition. But a lot of people ignored Hatamas Shopping Mall because its not a MEGA project like KLCC, MidValley, or 1Utama. Hell, even Curve and IKANO (IKEA) were packed!

Basically were just resting and doing nothing much. It was a good holiday.

The Day After Merdeka
Do you know the meaning of Monday Blues? Apply the same, times 1,000,000 and you will know the feeling.

It’s all about work, work and work. There are just so many things to do and time is tight. I am just taking a short break from work to blog.

Hope you guys have a good and memorable Merdeka day.
