On October 20th, 2005, 7.55am, our first lady, wife of Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi, Edon, passed away due to breast cancer. I won’t so much as call it a lost battle to the breast cancer, but a great lost of the nation to breast cancer.
I have to admit, I do not know our First Lady (FL) very much as I don’t really follow the local political scene, and Pak Lah (Our Prime Minister’s nickname) has only been our nation’s Prime Minister for a short period of time. But from the news I read on newspaper, and the things that people around her wrote, I do feel that our FL is in fact someone worth us to salute and admire. She has the wisdom, strength, and the aura of good that bring people around her to grow and nurture. It is a great lost of the nation that she passed away, and regretably that we all do not have a lot of chance to get to know her better.
So I am taking this chance to pay a silent tribute to our FL, Edon, and hope peace will find her. God speed, Edon.
