After some much needed rest, I woke up to take dinner and went out with my girlfriend to buy some movies to watch. Well, some of you might figure that I should rest more, but after taking the medicine, I slept for few hours so I was well enough to go out.
I went to the regular place, I found that all the shops are closed. The tenant told me that they have moved to another place until after the holidays. Even the moving-vendors, normally located nearby huge eating places, were gone too. After driving from Damansara to SS2, from SS2 to Taman Megah, and then to USJ, and then to Subang, almost all the shops were closed! The normally crowded streets seemed so empty and mind you, it was only at 11pm. It seems like everyone got their sixth sense running wild and feels that this would be a bad time to come out. Even some of the people were telling me that “the wind is blowing really strong at the moment”. Seems like Malaysia is being hit by a Hurricane**.
The only shop that was opened was located in USJ. Unfortunately, when we went in to check things out, we noticed two guys were sitting right in front of the cashier counter, head hunched low, reading something. We realized that the environment was a bit out of place, and the shopkepers were looking at me, giving me signs to leave that place. Without any hesitation, both of us left that shop and headed to Subang Jaya. But even before we reach Subang Jaya, we knew deep inside that the hope of getting any movies tonight is gone.
Well, I won’t blame them. The Festive Seasons (Deepavali and Hari Raya) is just around the corner, so those vendors are dumbfucks if they are still selling because they should figure out that no matter how much they sell, they cannot cover the expenses incurr to them prior to the Festive Seasons. This seems like a norm in the slow market nowadays because who wants to be victimized by the slow economy and the Hurricane.
After driving for almost an hour, I felt dizzy and got the urge to puke, so we just went home without thinking of finding any movies lately, at least until after the Festive Seasons. Seems like this would be a boring holiday seasons…
** Hurricane is just a figurative speaking term. If you know what I mean, then you’ll know. If not, then forget about it.
