::: meeting :::

This post was due on September 12, 2005

Okay, so today I went through a long, and dry meeting that lasted from 9am till 7pm! It felt like a really long day and I felt so suffocated. After the meeting, everyone changed. I mean, those senior managers, managers and etc, took off their stiff mask and joked with all of us, and we had a blast during dinner. Well, this is a side that I had never seen before. Unfortunately, there’s another meeting tomorrow. I wish there’s someone out there who can save me from all these dry talk.

During the weekend, I wasn’t really doing anything, just spending some time with my gf and also my cutie monster. The wonderful weekend is spoiled by the contractor because at first, they promised that it will take 2 days to fix up the toilet. Unfortunately, when they started work on Friday morning, they took longer than usual to get things done. And finally, they came back on Sunday to install the toilet bowl, and informed us that we cannot use the bathroom until today! Well, screw all that and I just install a shower curtain, and duct tape the sides so the water won’t leak to the toilet bowl area!

Because right now we are renting, the landlord was bullying my gf as well. She was the coordinator with the contractors since I am outstation, and when she was calling the landlord, he basically interfere her and don’t really allow her to talk. When I went back, I asked the landlord to go to our apartment, and when I was talking to him, he just changed. He listened to what I got to say and he agreed to compensate us on the hotel fee. Well, of course he won’t compensate 100%, but he’s taking more than half of the hotel fee.

We have been looking at buying our own house, but right now we are still pondering which area to buy because we want some place that is as peaceful as possible. We are still on the lookout, and hopefully can find some place. Our top priority now is actually Damansara and Kota Kemuning.

Anyway, I have already ordered an iPod Nano! The unit should arrive this week but I still have no idea when will it arrive. Hopefully it will arrive soon because I just can’t wait to get my hands on it!

-+= Movie Review : Dark Water =+-

This post was due on September 12, 2005

The movie is based on the same name novel by author Koji Suzuki and the original movie was directed by Hideo Nakata. The story is about a mother, whom is wounded and traumatized by a bitter custody dispute, moved to a run-down apartment building with the daughter due to the low rent.

After moving in, weird things started to happen. First, the ceiling in the bedroom started to leak, and sometimes they heard running on the upper floor. Well, the spooky part is that the room upstairs has been vacant for months. Mysteries finally unsolved itself and the ghost has been trying to send a message to the mother and daughter.

Finally, the director added some twist into the story and I am not going to give you the spoiler. Go watch it yourself to find out more!

Basically, this Hollywood produced ghost story based on Japanese original clearly has more budget, and it has good actors. The sound effect alone is worth the money. But viewer will be disappointed with the thriller-effect. The Japanese version is spookier than the Hollywood Dark Water, but at least the Hollywood version didn’t turn out to be another The Ring nor The Grudge. Personally, I’d give it a 3 stars.

Genre: Drama / Thriller
Tagline: Some mysteries were never meant to be solved.
Plot Outline: A mother and daughter, still wounded from a bitter custody dispute, hole up in a run-down apartment building. Adding further drama to their plight, they are targeted by the ghost of former resident. (view trailer)
Cast: Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Tim Roth, Ariel Gade
